Depollution of the Maxéville wastewater treatment plant – Grand Nancy Metropolis

A new innovation from VALGO for the Grand Nancy Metropolis in France: the simultaneous association of 2 sediment treatment purification techniques.

Carried out in the Maxéville Métropole du Grand Nancy wastewater treatment plant operated by Sovem, a subsidiary of Veolia, this new 2-step process combines the emptying of the treatment works and the treatment of sediments by desanding and hydro-cycloning.

VALGO and its team of depollution experts carried out the complete emptying of a digester in 3 months.

Results:
✅Treat 8,000 m3 of sediment
✅Recover 1,100 tonnes of sand and 625 tonnes of sludge

In addition, VALGO, with the help of its partner Watertacks, cleaned 2 anoxia (lack of oxygen) basins with the new generation robot “Lisie”, totally immersed and controlled remotely, which sucks up the sediment without disturbing the water treatment. .

This innovative solution gives pride of place to the circular economy with the recovery of sand as a substitute material for concrete and the disposal of sludge in a composting center.
